Looking In

~ Christmas Product ~

For this layout I used Carta Bella, "So this is Christmas."
These photos were taken during the summer but the tones were perfect for this paper line.
~ Looking In ~
I live in a rural area where traffic is not an issue. Throughout the summer my neighbor's dog would visit me in the evenings. She'd look in the screen door then wait for me to come out and play. She enjoyed being petted then would wander off to her next friend.

Lace:Pink Paislee

Goodbye Chester

This year our family will be moving over the Christmas holiday. This means goodbye to our beloved ferret, Chester. We are sad to see him go, but found him a wonderful home and are happy knowing that someone else will be getting a ferret for Christmas.
~ Goodbye Chester ~
For the snowflake outline I cut an 8" circle and then traced the Star Template in the center. I used the points of the star to line up Punch #312 (with Insert A) so that the design was evenly distributed around the circle edge. I then used this punched circle as a mask for modeling paste.
This layout is my entry for the C'est Magnifique sketch.

Deck The Halls!

SWAT Drill #21
A Christmas Carol
Today's challenge is to use a Christmas carol
for the title of your layout.
This one was a snap for me.
Our day-after-Thanksgiving tradition is
1.Pie for Breakfast
2.Pajamas all Day
3.Decorate for Christmas
Of course I snapped a photo of our hard work!
~ Deck the Halls ~

This project is also my entry for December's
Scrappy Friends Challenge.
Rochelle challenged us to use a song from 2013 on our layout. I chose the following line from Suit and Tie by Justin Timberlake.
"sit back and enjoy the light show"
Kristi's challenge was to make it sparkle. I used gold paint, glittery stickers, gold ribbon, sparkly twine, and paper with gold dots.
Brenda provided the sketch, which I turned twice to the right:

Paper:DCWV, Prima, Carta Bella
Stickers:MME

Love

 SWAT:Drill #18
Use Wood Embellies

School has been so crazy I haven't been able to participate with the SWAT DT very often. But term break means at least a few extra hours in the day so here's my take on Jenessa's super fun sketch.

Find JOY in the little things, and happiness won't be far behind.

Back 2 School

Sew On It

Todays's challenge is all about the sewing!!!
I'm always game for a stitch or two so I put my machine to good use and did several vertical stitches on this layout.
~ back 2 school ~

As you can clearly see, this Layout is about my favorite day of the year...the first day of school! This year when I took the back to school photos I caught a light refraction off the lens and it turned into a double rainbow across the photo!!!
PROOF
that school is indeed a good thing.

Fall Decor Blog Hop

October has an extra Monday so the Paper Girls have lined up a hop.
This time our theme is

Fall Decor

Since fall is when I bring my plants back inside I decided to snazzy them up a little
just in time for the hop.
I got out my mega roll of burlap ribbon, an owl and a leaf stamp, and some ColorBox pigment
inks and stamped a repeating pattern on the ribbon.
A quick fix to be sure, but now my plants have their own sweaters to wear this fall.

What do you have to do to participate?

How about a little extra help with that “Fall Decor”? The Paper Girls Challenge Blog has a Scrapbook Pal gift card up for grabs, which means you're asking what do you have to do to participate?

How do you get your hands on the gift card? Would you like a chance to win?

Get an entry for commenting on each of the blog posts, "Like" the Paper Girls Challenge on Facebook, and being a follower on our blog (all are required for an entry). You will see some fabulous projects and find some inspiration.

You have until Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 11:59pm MST to comment. We will announce the winner on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 9:00 am MST. International readers are welcome to play along but currently we are only shipping prize packs to the US and Canada due to shipping costs.

Delightful Frolic

10 Things Tuesday at Practical Scrappers:
Doilies
For today's project I decided to make an inverted doilie. I cut a circle thae used my Kreaxions punch all around the inside edge of the circle. It makes a lovely frame for this sweet game of Ring-Around-the-Rosie.
~ Delightful Frolic ~
This page is also my entry for Paper Secrets:
I used corkboard stars and banners, a wooden ruler, and chalkboard paper to make the inverted doily and to back it.
Here's a shot of the journaling strip, the colors are such a soft pastel the camera was having trouble grabbing them.

Silent Question:Sketchabilities #99

Stickers
Flat stickers leave a little to be desired when texture is taken into consideration, but that doesn't mean you can't get artsy with them. For my sticke project I used the negative of two sticker flourishes as a stencil for modeling paste.
~Silent Question~
It was a bit tricky getting the modeling only in the negative space, but a little spillage added to the drama of the layout.
The chalkboard paper looks absolutely fabulous with the white paste and the dramatic red.
